The sirocco edition looks very distinctive from its predecessor, but retains the smooth design. The phone can be recognised far from the stainless steel body of its reflection. The signature feature of the 8800 Sirocco Edition’s design is the concave ‘thumbprint’ on the front of the handset. These sidekeys on the sides of the device, act as an effective anchorage when you slide open the phone.
Though the alpha numeric keypad is a little small still they feel ergonomic, mainly because of the ’sand dune’ convex dsign of the keys and tactile feedback. The d-pad is crafte like a rectangular jewel box. Nokia has comeented the its keypad will shine like the brightest star in the darkest night.
The camera lens is hidden on the back of the slider and will be revealed only when the phone is open. The back of the phone is plain, and the surface around the camera is brushed bronze material as the keypad. The main display of the screen is TFT capable of displaying 256 colors. The phone supports MP3, MP4, eAAC, eAAC+, and WMA files and the media player allows you to use audio at the background while the phone functions can be used simultaneously.
Its a 2MP CMOS sensor, from the original 8800 VGA resolution. Picture quality is acceptable. The user edition is built on Nokia series 40 v2.
