New Nokia handheld with sliding keyboad and touchscreen?

nokia-n810

nokia-n810Nokia is planning for a new touchscreen handheld at the end of this year (though not heard from reliable sources), the phone will stay in close touch to the previous models, 770 and N800/810. The statement of scott’s on the description of the phone

“One of the new models to be rolled out over the next 12 months has a 4.2-inch touchscreen and a “hidden slide-out keyboard,” and is considered a mobile Internet device or tablet.”

So what could be different to make it stand apart from the crowd and to gain market attraction in appealing numbers.

  • 3G integrated capability - a feature which failed in the previous devices, where the feature doesn’t get activated until you were near a stable Wi-Fi hotspot , you had to rely on another third party device for connectivity.
  • Tweaked UI  – Mae mo though isn’t never a bad choice, what has been expected is an Intuitive environment which demands users to use it without the slightest hesitation.
  • Standard cellphone usage : Users have demanded a blue tooth headset inclusive along with the device, so as to make it stand apart from the usual crowd and to really give meaning to the Naming Convention “Internet tablet”.
  • Carrier subsidies – Since the Nokia Tablet is going to be aimed at the major part of the crowd its not going to be so easy to move it unless otherwise the cost is going to be less than $199. Since the MID demands data connectivity at a minimum price then, the supporting hardware must also be minimized.
  • An App Store - Turning smart phones from devices into platforms. If Nokia wants to keep Mae mo Linux on the device, that’s fine but they have to court more developers… fast.

Hoping with all these features are going to be bundled to the new package and Nokia coming up from its own ashes to a new form! But we know for sure now that WiMax wont be a part of this package ;) !!
