Here are a few facts about Nokia that we never knew…
- The ringtone “Nokia tune” is actually based on a 19th century guitar work named “Gran Vals” by Spanish musician Francisco Tárrega. It was named the Nokia Tune only after 1998. Previously it was known as “Grand Valse”.
- Nokia became the biggest manufacturer of Digital Cameras in 2006 as the sale of its camera phones rose over conventional Digicams
- The “Standard” Nokia SMS tone is Morse code for “M” (Message)
- Agfa Rotis Sans font is used by Nokia in most user guides / manuals
- If all the Nokia 3310/3330 phones sold were laid end-to-end, the line would stretch from Helsinki, Finland to Santiago, Chile – over 13,500 kilometers
- One in 4 phones would be a Nokia by next year – (amongst a total of 4Bln phones)
- Nokia 3310 / 3330 sold 126 million units making it the worlds best selling phone
- The first Nokia mobile phone ever made is the Mobira Senator released in 1982
