Nokia global CEO meets Indian PM

India is probably the fastest growing mobile market in the world and a very strong market for Nokia aswell. In India Nokia and SRK sells and to keep that spirit alive Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo met Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and discussed various local issues.
Kallasvuo requested the PM to promote uniform VAT in all states across India. Currently Maharashtra and MadhyaPradesh are charging 12.5% VAT on mobiles compared to 4% in rest of India. This promotes gray market and hurts the market in these states.
Hope the meeting was fruitful and people will see the Vat rates coming down soon
