Samsung Star/3G Review

A complete era for the mobile launchers to touch its loyal loyal buyers hearts with their touchscreen models. Apple initiated it with iPhone, Nokia with 5800, HTC on its usual note and samsung has joined the hit list with Star 3G a complete touch based model. Poses the look of a very stylish phone, gives a great feel to own it.

3G Star is like most of the usual touch based models with aa 2.8″ display that is completely touch sensitive. The display is simply brilliant with 262K colors and crystal spec QVGA resolution. Also, the touchscreen is calibrated so well that it gives its users an excellent navigation experience.

Gesture command is an excellent feature and a new approach to launching applications in touchscreen based models. The user can simply assign alphabets to frequently used applications and by simply running your fingers over the screen to form the alphabet launches that application associated with that alphabet. The other best way for the developers and designers to have exploited the touch based feature available on the phone is “Touch to Call” with this feature the user can call any person by just touching the photo assigned to that person in the contact.

Camera performance is very similar to that of Nokia 5800 which has a 3.2 Megapixel camera and LED flash to support taking pictures during the night mode. The touch based feature available on the phone makes the photos appear breezy.

Music is yet another best feature available on the phone. The device supports most of the latest music format files like MP3/AAC/AAC+/e-AAC+/WMA/WAV. The best feature that has been combined with music is HSDPA, where the user can just record a part of the song and post it on the internet where the device sends it to the server and the complete songg is available to the user. The FM radio available makes it possible for the users to switch to stations to hear their favorite music playerd live.
