Review of Nokia Power Airbus Light (BH-405)

Formal accessories are a must for any brand, especially the Nokia brand, which is under the control of Nokia Mobile. Audio accessories are very important today and the trend is moving towards airbags, at a time when the classic 3.5 mm audio jack is going down in history, airbags are a great solution. Small, compact airbags and gadgets can fit anywhere from your jeans pocket to your wallet, and most importantly, you look a lot better than people who wear headphones. Airbags can also provide you with hours of music playback, or serve as a hands-free device, or use it to call a digital assistant. Nokia Mobile first launched the Nokia Power Airbus (BH-605) and then in late 2020 introduced the Lite version, which differs from the standard model in terms of the size of the battery inside the charging case. We chose the blue version of the BH-405 for this review. Let’s see how Nokia Mobile has worked with this device and what it has to offer.

Box

The Nokia Power Airbuds Light is housed in a small box, and the design of this box follows the design of the exterior of the boxes of Nokia smartphones. As this device is an accessory, an additional holder for hanging the box on store shelves is also provided for it. By removing the top cover of the box, you can see the capsule charging case in the shape of the Nokia logo engraved in gray. The charging case is enclosed in a smaller compartment and also includes a USBa / USBc short charging cable, L and S (left and right ear) airtypes, and a manual. This manual will help you to get acquainted with how to turn on and use the controls of these earphones, but by reading this review, you can get acquainted with these items.

Construction quality and ergonomics

BH-405 airbags have good build quality. The charging case and windshield are made of the same polycarbonate material and, thanks to their good matte finish, convey a good feeling when touched. The charging case is designed almost like a capsule and has rounded corners and is very thin and compact. The case lid looks a little loose and loosens a little if you press, closing the case lid makes a nice clicking sound and protects the air vents well. These winds are not small, their approximate size is 2. 2 cm, but they fit well in the ear. There are three different Eirtype sizes in the box, you should try them all to find the right size for your ear canal. The airbags are easily fixed in the ear and do not move when running or walking. Also, you do not need to worry that sweating will damage the winds, as the Nokia Power Airbuds Lite is IPX7 certified, which means they are waterproof for up to 30 minutes in one meter of water.

The part that holds the driver and fits inside the ear is made of similar hard polycarbonate, while the upper bouts featured two cutaways, for easier access to the higher frets. It feels thinner, probably because you can feel it and see the notification light when you touch it.

When you open the case door, you see the winds. Above, there is an LED that shows a red light if the winds are charging and a blue light if they are connected to the device. There is a microphone hole in the side of each wind. The winds are held firmly by a magnet in the charging case so that they do not fall down. The winds are also connected by a strong magnet to the charging pins below them. Looking at the case, the right wind is on the right and can only be placed on the right. At the edge of the case, you will see 4 LEDs that indicate the battery level of the charging case.

These winds are ergonomically compatible with your eardrums and do not protrude as much. It is like using an earplug earplug so that water does not enter your ear. The wider part of the wind is in the ear, so do not try to use them as an AirPod.

Clean the inside of the case from time to time, wiping the winds off with a damp cloth to keep them germ-free.

Usability and sound quality

These winds are quite simple gadgets that help you not only relax with good music or podcasts, but also act as a stimulus for you during your workouts by listening to music. They are light and easy to put on the ear, but if this is your first time using an airbag, you will experience an unusual feeling on the first day.

Also, if your car does not have Bluetooth, speakers and a microphone, you can use it as a handsfree. To check the quality of the call, I made several phone calls to these winds, and the recipients of the call described the sound as good and understandable, but they thought it was as if I were speaking in a large, empty hall. When I tried to contact the person who also had the airbag, I was amazed at the quality of the microphone, how much these winds reduce the sound of the environment, cars, motorcycles and even other people.

They light up automatically as soon as you remove the airbag light from the charging case. They also mate immediately. If this does not happen, all you have to do is return the unpaired airbags to the case and take them out again. All you have to do is pick up your mobile phone and go to the Bluetooth settings and pair it with Nokia Power Airbus Light. You can now use your Nokia Lite airbags.

Nokia PowerLite airbags are touch-sensitive. It takes time to get used to the place of touch, the center of the plastic part is where you have to touch. Response time is not the fastest but it is very fast. If you tap the left or right wind once, the music stops playing. You can control the volume by tapping twice. You can increase the volume by tapping the right wind, and you can decrease the volume by tapping the left wind. If you tap these winds three times, you can move the tracks forward or backward (right wind one track forward and left wind one track back). You can answer or disconnect the call with just a swipe of the left or right wind. Holding your finger on the left or right airbag invokes Google Assistant and there is no way to turn it off.

The sound quality is amazing. It’s a surprise that these 60-euro Bluetooth airbags can make such a good sound. Bass, high and medium tones are well covered and you will enjoy listening to rock and classical music through these winds.

Bluetooth connectivity depends on the quality of your mobile phone. For example, the connection between these winds and the Nokia 8.3 5G will be stable up to 5 meters indoors.

Great ambient noise reduction makes it enjoyable to listen to music while walking on a busy street, passing cars or in a crowded place. For this reason, you should not use these types of airbags while cycling, as you may not hear the sound of a car or bus coming. Also, for the sake of your health, avoid running on crowded roads while using these airbags and run on the routes and places designated for this purpose. This is where ANC airbags come in handy as they can provide a bit of artificial intelligence control and let you know the surrounding sounds.

Battery

The internal battery of these winds has a capacity of 60 mAh, which is enough for 4 to 5 hours of music playback. These winds quickly recharge inside the charging case, giving you 5 minutes of charging time to watch a movie.

The charging case has a 600 mAh battery that you can charge in one hour via USBc cable.

the final conclusion

These airbags are very useful gadgets that the ecosystem of Nokia phones lacked. The build quality of these winds and the sound quality are excellent. For 60 euros you will have airbags with some basic features that do a great job and you can even use them to make calls.

Nokia Power Light Airbags are technically the same as Nokia Power Airbags, the only difference being battery capacity, charging case size and price.

Make no mistake that the Light model lacks sound quality or some features. In fact, the smaller case size is an advantage because of the battery capacity because it fits easily in your pocket.

The airbags used in this review were blue (Fjord), but you can choose white (Snow) and black (Charcoal) to buy. If you need a pair of airbags that give you great sound during your workouts, games or rest time, we recommend the Nokia Powerlight Airbags.
